New law proposal means that if you create a program intended to transfer data from one computer to another, it could lead to legal wrangles.<br \/>\n&#8221;  This bill would provide that any person or entity that sells,<br \/>\nadvertises, or distributes peer-to-peer file sharing software, as<br \/>\ndefined, that enables the user to electronically disseminate<br \/>\nrecordings or audiovisual works over the Internet who fails to<br \/>\nexercise reasonable care in preventing use of the software to commit<br \/>\nan unlawful act with respect to a commercial recording or audiovisual<br \/>\nwork, or a violation of provisions related to production,<br \/>\npossession, distribution, or advertisement of obscene matter<br \/>\ndepicting a minor under 18 years of age, or tampering with,<br \/>\ninterference with, damage to, or unauthorized access to computer data<br \/>\nor systems, is punishable by a fine not exceeding $2,500,<br \/>\nimprisonment in a county jail for a period not to exceed one year, or<br \/>\nby both that fine and imprisonment.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hehe yeah this is the case&#8230; funny eh?
