Big Day!!

Well, Amanda is having Natalie do her hair while I am putting some music on the ipod.

Today is the day we make this relationship “official”. 12 years and people still ask me if I am nervous about marrying Amanda.

So for all the people I didnt invite I apologize. It was a rough September, and everything got messed up.

Love,

Wilbur

Ike just another name for Rita

Just three years and it looks like everyone who suffered from Rita are back in the same position again.

Cameron parish is reporting massive flooding and wind damage.

Vermilion Parish has flooding South of Abbeville, in Erath and Delcambre.

New Iberia looks to be flooded also.

It’s that Time again

Well, its that time again. Time to head up north and hope your house is there when you get back.

This time all of Louisiana below I-10 is being kindly asked to shove off. Guess Gustav is coming to make up for what Rita and Katrina missed. Well, I’ve decided to leave. Not really because I think we are in that much danger, but because it would ease the minds of my parents who have already headed to Dallas, TX.
The only question remains: San Antonio or Dallas? hmm.
Talk to you later. Hopefully not much later.

Amanda’s Ankle (update)

The cast is off. Amanda’s taking it easy. The doctor told her to slowly put weight on the foot over the next few weeks until she can walk on it. Here is a copy of the first x-ray.

Amanda’s Broken Ankle

That hurts

Well, Amanda decided that life was starting to get boring, so she decided to take a trip. (oh that was lame.)

Well, maybe we aren’t moving so quickly.

I havent been offered anything else, so it looks like we are staying.

I got the part-time position as a freelance editor for the Oxford English Dictionary. This means I get street cred and a little money. ($24 per hour)

I may be teaching Intro to Linguistics this semester, or at least Grammar again.

I dont know about IEP. We dont have that many students. It looks like I may not get a full term.

Interestingly though, I did get a pay raise for the IEP job. Hopefully they can give me a full at the beginning. If not that means I may have to take another class from UL and then it will be strange if she needs me when the second fall session begins.
