justifiable sigh….
Dr. Korcz said that he would look over papers i turned in for his class to see which is the best to turn in as proof of my philosophical abilities.
i have a feeling it will be the theory of knowledge class..

Is this for graduate school? You know, it never occured to me that I might show one of my papers to someone as part of an application process. I call this a *gong* moment. I’ve been having lots of these lately. That’s when someone says something that makes me aware of something obvious that I wasn’t aware of before, but I feel that I should have been. I never wrote any of my papers thinking, “This could be the one that gets me into graduate school,” or my next job or anything. I wonder which one I would show? My theory of knowledge paper was REALLY BAD. It was so complex, even I still don’t understand it. I basically argued that there is a distinction between personal, or subjective, justification and objective justification, and the Gettier Problem arises only for personal justification. Doesn’t sound so bad except that I didn’t understand one of the articles I used, and I didn’t understand where my own argument was leading until the night before the paper was due. I finished writing the paper the same morning it was due. I guess I would show my Aristotle paper. When I won the essay prize with it, I thought it wasn’t really that good. I mean, I thought I could do just as well on any other paper. But it probably really is my best writing.
