Fourteen+ dollars per hour is a real job. Still, don’t let that stop you from finding something even better. Again, congratulations!

I mean someone with an MA in English, they should only make $25,000 but a philosophy major. Come on. He should be raking in the dough. Wilbur

ha. i have the terminal degree in my field and after graduating in two years with my second oh-so-valuable such degree i will probably be applying for jobs in the mid-high thirties. and david might be getting raise in three months. if i didn’t love my work so much i’d be tempted to give up on the refrigerator. in a [i:26bd5144e3]confessions of a dangerous mind[/i:26bd5144e3] sense. i heard the ability with which a philosophy degree endows its possessor was–contrary to popular perception 🙄 –[b:26bd5144e3]not[/b:26bd5144e3] the ability to rake in the proverbial Big Dough, but the ability to question everything, including societal mores and traditional capitalist values, allowing said possessor, if necessary, to justify and therefore be quite content with a mediocre salary… 😉 i can just see david riding the path like a zen master in a shirt and slacks, contemplating his lot: [list:26bd5144e3]fourteen an hour. why? this train. it takes me to work. what does it all mean?[/list:u:26bd5144e3]except you should have heard him last night. talking about timers for our air conditioners. dishwashers. retirement accounts… i was like, who are you, and what have you done with my boyfriend?

Now you know how poor lowly me feels. He will make more than me in just a few months. Look how long I have been working. Gotta love your job to be a teacher and writer. Of course, even you can make more than I in the tech writing field. Ooooh, I feel so lonely down here in the poverty area. hehehehe

So true you are. Did a year there, too. Forgot about that year. I can identify with your pain.

[quote:d1e8397754]Did a year there[/quote:d1e8397754] Sounds almost like your describing a prison sentence.

[quote:b9ce8d1874]did a year[/quote:b9ce8d1874] As a person who does not deal well with the “purchasing” public, it was to me almost like a prison. But I did learn a lot and have great respect for the cashiers, waiters, etc in the world. And “yes” they (Walmart) do [b:b9ce8d1874]not[/b:b9ce8d1874] pay well.
