let me geek out for a second…

Filed under: Entries — arglor @ 12:49 pm

SO AMD verus Intel is one of those various arguments that geeks get into and there has been really no winner the case. AMD is supposedly quality work at a vastly cheaper rate, where as Intel is more powerful *depending on model etc* yet also very expensive. I’m bastardizing the differences, but they are there all the same.

All the same, there was a computer awards show that was sponsored by Intel in Birmingham. According to various links of sources varied, AMD won the coveted honor of best chipset of the year. Link 1 and Link 2. Anyways take it with a grain of salt i suppose, but if it is true i have even more reason to stick with AMD.

Intel sponsors the show and aparently the award presenter left the stage before presenting the award to AMD. They just left the award on stage and walked away. Hilarious. (one L right?)

one L. I always wondered what the difference was between the two… I know nothing about those things.

*huge grin* i’ve been on his case about that L for weeks. he’s teasing me. my dad – who was a geek supreme – was AMD, all the way. in fact, before he sold it to bail out his best friend’s faltering trucking company, he owned an insane amount of AMD stock. if only that trucking company hadn’t failed…

if he had stuck with AMD he would be insanely rich… insanely rich… your father was very intelligent… apparently i put to many p’s in apologize and too many l’s in hilarious. i like to make sure you get the constants in my statements.

i can tell you more about the AMD thing in a more private forum. but yes, my dad was very intelligent. if he hadn’t sold the stock to bail out his friend, i would not be working right now. but in addition to being intelligent, he was (a) a very good friend and (b) depressed over my brother and not making the best financial decisions. i really wish you’d have been able to meet him. you would’ve thought he was really cool, and i think he would’ve liked you a lot too. in other news, i hate my new haircut. i look like a republican news anchor. he gave me bangs.

i really just wanted to say “she bangs..”
