HA HA! the internet is up AGAIN! WOOHOO

bad idea… anyone remember young indiana jones? yeah. Indi wasn’t so good as the young innocent version, i don’t think Han will either.

BAd idea bad…

I’m tired. This is a rough week.

Monday was kewl though, saw robots with Ronnie’s kids and Ronnie himself. It was a fun day. His kids were wired. Ah well. They were also the nicest and most polite kids i’ve seen, Mr. David this and Mr. David that… hehe i’m old 😉

NIN and my conclusion…

I do not like the new album by NIN. All of it isn’t bad, but as an album it fell seriously short.

Why?

For one key point of reference, I actually skip songs. When you skip songs, that is a sure sign you don’t like the Album.

Now on the brightside, i really do enjoy several key songs. 7 i believe and 13 also… not positive.. 6 is ok also… even though trey attempted to turn trent into a pirate by writing the words out. Oh well. It can’t be all bad if the cd is in my cd player still, yet again i listen to NPR a lot. I skip like four of the songs when i’m listening to it. 2 especially. I hate 2.

And so it begins…

Coordinator: Crucifixion?
Person 1: Yes.
Coordinator: Good. Out of the door, line on the left, one cross each.
[Next prisoner]
Coordinator: Crucifixion?
Stan: Yes.
Coordinator: Ahhh… Good. Out of the door, line on the left, one cross each.
[Next prisoner]
Coordinator: Crucifixion?
Stan: Er, no, freedom actually.
Coordinator: What?
Stan: Yeah, they said I hadn’t done anything and I could go and live on an island somewhere.
Coordinator: Oh I say, that’s very nice. Well, off you go then.
Stan: No, I’m just pulling your leg, it’s crucifixion really.
Coordinator: [laughing] Oh yes, very good. Well…
Stan: Yes I know, out of the door, one cross each, line on the left.

strange post eh?

I am begining a cram session. Tomorrow i have a physics test and a french test. I want to be dividing verb conjugates, and conjugating gravitational theories.

let me geek out for a second…

SO AMD verus Intel is one of those various arguments that geeks get into and there has been really no winner the case. AMD is supposedly quality work at a vastly cheaper rate, where as Intel is more powerful *depending on model etc* yet also very expensive. I’m bastardizing the differences, but they are there all the same.

All the same, there was a computer awards show that was sponsored by Intel in Birmingham. According to various links of sources varied, AMD won the coveted honor of best chipset of the year. Link 1 and Link 2. Anyways take it with a grain of salt i suppose, but if it is true i have even more reason to stick with AMD.

Intel sponsors the show and aparently the award presenter left the stage before presenting the award to AMD. They just left the award on stage and walked away. Hilarious. (one L right?)

For the 200th post on this new form of blog.. it will be a

First off, Mary is sick. I feel bad for her so if she logs in I wanted to collect a few news articles I found interesting so she could peruse them.

News post…
China cures diabetes through transplantation. Who the hell said communist nations don’t produce technological advancements due to a stagnation in the work force? Does Ego really drive technological advancements? Does communism really preach 100% equality, or is that simply the propaganda statement? Every single question i’ve raised is very absurd, because they work off of cardboard interpretations of China’s communist political structure.

Oil prices. This article just explains what has been happening the last few weeks with the cost of gasoline, and it also offers projections of the future.

Hah french love at it’s best. This is why i’m not romantic baby, romance kills people ;).

Interesting dilemma. This seems to be a major point of contention with the republican party, either we close the borders or open them and offer them legal work. Decisions decisions…

As always, she appears to some and remains hidden to others. Man a yellow and white stain on the overpass in the shape of the virgin Mary is good enough to draw crowds, but Chris Ofili, the Anglo-African Roman Catholic, whose mixed-media work, The Holy Virgin Mary, is obscene. I think intention plays into the whole affair. One instant, he intended to create the work out of feces and in the other she intended to arise from a urine stain on the side of the overpass. I’m joking of course, she doesn’t exist so she can’t intend anything.
BTW I really want to go see this work of art Mary.

FWHAT!? You mean obesity isn’t the killer we belived it to be!? OH my god. Haha i’m glad i don’t use scientific studies to regulate what is healthy for me, because i’d be schitzophrenic. This isn’t to say i don’t consult them for general directionary purposes, but i don’t need a dietary study to tell me begin overweight is unhealthy for me. HLG tells me that every day of the week as i trudge up to the fifth floor.

Uh oh… So drinking might not be as healthy as they claim it to be? FWHAT?! I’m sorry to show this to you Mary. I just thought it was so relevant to this blog.

definitions…

I’ve run into major problems today with attempting to define things. Apparently life escapes definition. At lunch today Michael, Me, and Trey got into an argument about freedom. (I think this is what they were saying, at least this is what Trey was arguing for) According to them we have very little freedom because there are consequences for a majority of my actions. I say that freedom is independent of the consequences. I define freedom as having the ability to do something.

In example: if you are in jail, then you still have the freedom to escape the jail.

I think that we negate our freedoms for concerns that can sometimes be described as non-existent. I don’t scream now, but i certainly have the freedom to do so. It is irrelevant that the consequences are there.

I also think i pissed mealymel off by attempting to define humanities, or at least asking for a definition of humanities. What the hell is the definition of humanities?

The historical problem…

According to Nietzsche, Philosophy has a problem. It has no sense of “history”. Every philosopher approaches an idea as though no one has thought of this idea before. Nietzsche’s point was that we don’t recognize the problems of the past and how they effect the future.

I disagree. I think of philosophy differently, but then again i’m the student of our philosophical department. According to the methods taught to us, philosophers approach problems by recognizing the evolution of ideas over time. Kant percieved the world drastically different from Descartes, but a lot of what Kant argues for is a response to Descartes. So in the end philosophy is very difficult to nail down.

What i’m concerned with in this post is something that is inspired by this post on Mealymel’s blog. As i was having this post discussion with Mealymel, i came to ponder about something inherent in blogging culture.

We approach blogs as though they are stream of consciousness. I am thinking A, B, C, D, etc, and my blog demonstrates this. There is something else interesting. We treat blogs as though they are speach.

fictional example:
I hate johnny. Wow i suppose i shouldn’t have typed that. Oh well.

And then we hit the post button. This is interesting. We recognize in typeface the things we shouldn’t do, but we take the extra step to do them anyways.

We also discuss things a lot more openly then we would. What is the blogging phenomena.

So the new pope, eh?

Wow. Simply Wow. He is God’s rottweiler. Isn’t that what we needed? More religious fundamentalism?

“He has denounced homosexuality as evil and other religions as “deficient”. He also reined in proponents of Latin American liberation theology. “

fun fun… Really needed this leader against the muslim onslaught of religious ferver. What we need are well defined leaders in the religious war of today. The last Pope was a pansy, and was way to welcoming. We need religious ferver. We need more crusades! We need more Inquisitions!

We need more bomb shelters.
